I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it.

Nearly two weeks back from tour and I'm already going through the withdrawals. Our west coast tour was more than satisfactory, despite the onslaught of snags we endured in almost every city. We also said goodbye to Brian, whose adventures led him east into Minnesota, where he's pursuing a doctorate in psychology.
So as we lie low, we are scratching at the dirt and running our fingers through our hair as we circulate ourselves back into the real world (at least for the time being) and reflect on all the obstacles we overcame to make last month's tour possible as well as all the rewards and new friends we made along the way.
We are taking July and August off to teach a friend bass, write our way into corners and scheme through the rest of this year and most of next. We'll be back for a couple shows at the end of august/beginning of September, starting with Punk is Dead Fest out in Lancaster.
While you're waiting, just stare into this image that is a window to the abysmal plain of sheer horror.

David Bowie's Changes...

...is playing softly in the background as we step out of the limelight for a while to gather our strength and compose some new tunes for the album, along with several other things that we will be changing in the plagueslife.

I'll keep you posted. Until then, I need my damn sleep.

Sweet Leaks

We so very much wanted everyone to hear this months ago, but due to the "biz", we were inclined to bite our tongues and lie in wait until the right moment.
Now that this moment has arrived, we've let loose and are dancing in the streets (A lot like David Bowie/Mick Jagger version, with the super baggy khaki suits and the empty apartment complex) and are just revealing shit left and right.
Along with this new track, we've put up Pre-Orders at Hellfish Family for the Perfect State EP, along with 2 new shirt designs, one done by our very good friend, Jonathan Davis (no, not from Korn).

Now that the cat's out of the bag, I hope that this will tie you guys over for at least another month. Once you've built up your appetite for more, we'll spoon feed you some more goodies and our EP should be out by then.
    Time will tell.

Movement with Sound

I can smell it.
The anticipation. The suspense.
Waiting on the edge, holding back all of the work that us and our friends have done for this band until the right moment of release. That's enough to drive anyone insane. I suppose that's just how marketing tactics work, right? Give them the first taste for free and then let them go through withdrawals so they come crawling back for more. Kinda like how drug dealers work...
Well, If it were up to me, I'd let everyone have at it right now; Claws out and teeth gnashing, fighting to the floor for whatever it is that was tossed into the crowd.

At least I can hold on for just a few more days and I most certainly hope that you can, too.
Friday. That's our meal ticket. That's Pizza day. That's when we let loose another beast.
Make sure you're here for it.

Fruition

Everything's been coming together very well lately. Despite running around, locating a spot to store our trailer  until tour, moving out of our studio, juggling everyone's schedules to see what shows we can and can't play, I'd say that, all in all, it will pay off in the end.
Test pressings for the Perfect State EP should be arriving at Glory Kid HQ any minute now and all of our tour dates have been more or less filled. Just need a few final confirmations from one or two guys in one or two cities and then I can relax.

I'm extremely excited for you guys to hear this EP, too. It's been difficult sitting on these songs for weeks on end, waiting for production to reach it's boiling point. Rest assured, the streams are coming and the EP will be out and available for purchase before we hit the road.

If that doesn't tie you over and you want to listen to these songs ASAP, don't worry. We actually play a good amount of the EP live and have some shows coming up. Like this one at Unit B in late May:

So, you've got that going for you.

Westward.

The way I perceive the world is slowly changing. I'm not nineteen anymore and am not bound to certain social settings or specific tastes of music. I mean, it's never really been about the cut and dry, elitist viewpoint of "Hardcore for Hardcore" for me, but I used to be very particular with what songs I wrote and how they would be performed in music projects I was involved with. Now, I can spin Violence Violence one minute and just as quickly (and just as easily) spin Frame and Canvas the next. Which is uplifting in its own way, right?
That being said, our new EP, Perfect State, isn't anything that we've attempted to do before. Granted, it still captures the same raw emotion that Plagues has always successfully been able to convey, but we really stepped back with this one and put more substance into our songwriting.

I know this is my first time ever blogging, so I'm not expecting a lot of heavy traffic for just the one blog post at the moment. But we'll be touring the west coast with our boo's, Griever.
The Dates are all set and I'll be posting fliers and fb event links to each one as they surface on the internet, but for now here are the dates, cities and all the info I have on each show:
